PORTAL: re-sounding body

A space to relax, listen, feel, move, and more deeply experience your ambient body. Acoustic instruments and voices attuning within a PORTAL keyboard installation in the gorgeous space of Old Government House.

Mid morning… wholebody workshop (10:30 AM – 1:00 PM).
Mid afternoon… spatialised performance (2:00 – 3:30 PM).

Free events. Suitable for children who are into chilled durational listening.

WHOLEBODY WORKSHOP – 10:30 AM til 1:00 PM

An experiential wholebody sonic workshop hosted by Lynette Lancini, composer-musician and certified Wholebody Focusing practitioner. We will explore the transformative power of connection to the whole living body of self, environment and other. Workshop commences under a generous tree in the Botanic Gardens and completes within Luke’s PORTAL installation, Old Government House.

SPATIALISED PERFORMANCE – 2:00-3:30 PM

A sit down, lie down and walk around performance-installation, hosted by Luke Jaaniste. Double bass (James Scott), piano (Kate Thomas) and voices (Lynette Lancini, Jordin Steele, Kath Lloyd and others) sounding within a PORTAL installation (many identical vintage keyboards creating a hypnotic harmonic cloud) in the large open spaces of Old Government House. Cushions provided.

Cafe at Botanic Gardens closes 4pm, and cafe at Old Government House shuts at 2pm on Sundays.

PORTAL: RE-SOUNDING BODY is a triple culmination – it is the final event of a year-long residency of Luke Jaaniste at Old Government House, and is the final day of the /// //ER//ERIS// \ SUMMER FESTIVAL curated and created by Luke with invited artists, as well as the last public program, on the final day, of the touring exhibition “Performance Now” showing at QUT Art Museum.
